PLAN required state test for all sophomores

October 15,  2014

10th graders should report to testing sites by 7 am with 2 #2 pencils and a calculator.

North Carolina added the PLAN test as a new state test for all 10th graders in 2011. PLAN, given to all West sophomores in October, measures a student's academic progress and is aligned with the ACT test for juniors in assessing whether students are prepared for success in college and future careers.  PLAN scores can be used by both students and teachers for academic instruction and focus.

For more information, consult North Carolina Department of Public Instruction. Students should consult the PLAN website here. Test taking tips and practice can be found on the  PLAN website.

Student scores are distributed approximately six weeks after the test.
