Frequently Asked Questions
1)  Q Tardy Makeup - Can my child make up time for tardies?

Yes. Per JCS Policy Code 4120, two unexcused tardies to a class constitute an absence in that class. Students whose unexcused tardies result in academic failure for a particular class may schedule time with their teachers or report to a tardy makeup session in Student Services during lunch. A student must make up 30 minutes for each unexcused tardy. When the time is made up, the unexcused tardy will be coded as an excused tardy which has no impact on academic records. Tardies to class cannot be eliminated from the attendance record, so there is no procedure to make up time for excused tardies.

2)  Q Absence Makeup - Can my child make up time for absences?
No. Students cannot makeup time for absences.
